Back to blogger. After almost 20 years. Coincidentally my first post in 2005 was about my sister's cat Mimi and this post is also about my other sister's cat Mimi part 2. Mimi 1 is healthy, happy, and old at about 20 years now. But this is about Mimi part 2. She has left behind this mortal life at the age of 4 years. Cats have very individual personalities once you really know them and love them. Mimi 2 was mild-tempered, playful, extremely hilarious, timid around humans but with a fierce animal instinct. Yes, my world seems quieter and colder without her purring, her nipping at my ankles, and her regular meow for food or petting. This has led to certain ruminations on death. It is inevitable but we are always unprepared. We can never escape the pain of missing the presence of a loved one- human or animal. We struggle with our human flaws and think could I have done things in a different way? Could I have avoided his/her death if I had done/not done something? Could ...
